Cleveland, OH (January 26, 2015) - Expedient, Cleveland’s leading provider of data center colocation, cloud computing and managed hosting services announced the completion of their third (3rd) local data center. This newest data center represents their seventh (7th) expansion in Cleveland in the last eight (8) years (Data Centers 1 and 2 have been previously expanded several times each). The opening of additional high-capacity data center space comes on the heels of several other Expedient data center expansions in Columbus, Indianapolis, Memphis and Pittsburgh.
The first phase of the new 14,000 square foot facility, includes over 6,500sq. ft. of production ready, raised floor compute-space, two (2) 1,500kW generators, two (2) 625 kW UPS and 300 tons of cooling capacity.
Expedient currently operates in seven cities, including Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Memphis, Columbus, Baltimore and Boston. Like its existing data center space, the new data center space will be seamlessly connected to the company’s ten (10) other data centers, by way of its fully redundant, 10Gbps fiber optic backbone network. Expedient’s data center expansion will provide local companies with additional capacity for hosting business critical applications, enabling them to increase the availability, security and uptime of their companies’ data and information systems.
The data center will also house Expedient’s 6th generation of cloud computing/virtual hosting pods architected in an N+2 configuration, fueled by Intel and VMware technologies. Each pod has over 3,000GB of memory that can be allocated to customers in 1GB increments and is scalable on demand.
