# Expedient Names Kevin Meyer Chief Technology Officer

September 02, 2026 4 min Read

Meyer, a 14-year Expedient veteran and one of the principal architects of the company’s cloud platform, takes on the role as Ken Hill retires after more than two decades leading Expedient’s technology strategy.

PITTSBURGH — Expedient today announced that Kevin Meyer has been named Chief Technology Officer, effective September 1, 2026. As CTO, Meyer will guide the strategic direction of Expedient’s technology platform, overseeing the architecture, engineering, and continued evolution of its Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and cloud service provider portfolio.

Meyer takes on the CTO role as three forces converge on IT organizations at once: the impact from VMware’s licensing overhaul, a rebalancing of workloads between cloud and on-prem, and the infrastructure demands of AI adoption. The decisions organizations make in the coming year will shape what’s possible for the next decade, and Meyer will set Expedient’s direction on a platform he spent 14 years building.

Meyer joined Expedient in 2012. In the years since, he has held a progression of technical leadership roles (most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Principal Architect) and has been leading the design and scaling of the core infrastructure platforms that power Expedient’s cloud solutions today. He brings more than 25 years of experience in information technology, product engineering, and enterprise infrastructure architecture to the role.

“The infrastructure conversation has changed more in the last two years than it did in the ten before that, between the VMware shakeup, cloud rebalancing, and AI rewriting the requirements,” said Meyer. “My job is to make sure Expedient’s platform is ready for whatever that shift asks of it next.”

## What This Means for Expedient’s Clients

IT organizations, regardless of size, are managing infrastructure decisions that carry lasting consequences: aging technical debt that’s expensive to keep patching, cost pressure that makes new investment hard to justify, and the convergence of cloud, data, and AI workloads demanding compute density, power, and data proximity most environments weren’t built to handle. Getting those decisions wrong doesn’t just cost money, it costs the time and trust needed to fix them.

Meyer has played a critical role in building the platform that has already carried Expedient’s clients through the last decade of that change, holding a 99% client retention rate along the way. As CTO, he’s positioned to keep solving the infrastructure challenges the industry will face in the coming years.

## Twenty Years of Building the Foundation

Meyer succeeds Ken Hill, who retired at the end of August after more than 20 years leading Expedient’s technology organization. Hill’s tenure spanned the majority of Expedient’s history, shaping the technology strategy behind the company’s IaaS and managed services platform, and the architecture, engineering culture, and technical standards Expedient operates by all carry his imprint.

“Ken built the engineering culture that lets us keep our promises to clients,” said Expedient CEO Bryan Smith. “Over twenty years of steady, disciplined technical leadership is rare, and Expedient is a stronger company because of it. We’re grateful for what he built, and glad he’s leaving the platform in hands that know it as well as he does.”

## Looking Ahead

With this transition, Expedient continues to provide the reliability and consistent execution clients have come to expect, setting the pace for a market being reshaped by VMware changes, cloud rebalancing, and AI.
